Last year's M4-powered iPad Pro was perhaps one of the biggest updates Apple has granted the flagship iPad in years. Boasting an incredibly thin chassis, powerful desktop-class SoC, and exceptional tandem OLED displays, the product was praised by reviewers and customers alike.
For its successor, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that Apple is opting for incremental refinements. Apart from the next-generation M5 SoC and thinner bezels, there appear to be no new changes or upgrades planned for this year's iPad Pro.
A fresh report from DigiTimes Asia, spotted by MacRumors, reveals that the displays intended for the 11-inch and 13-inch variants of the iPad Pro have entered mass production, with the suppliers being the usual suspects - Samsung and LG.
This update seems to fall in line with previous rumors hinting at an October launch for the M5 iPad Pro, which is when Apple typically likes to announce new iPads and Macs. The current generation M4 iPad Pro (curr. $919 on Amazon) was announced in May of last year, indicating a roughly 18-month update cycle for the iPad Pro.
As with all pre-release reports, be sure to accept this information with a grain of salt. However, judging by the ongoing murmurs in the industry, the reported information does appear to be reliable enough.
